TELEFÓNICA BLACK LEG ONE DAY 17 QFB: received 1810 GMT
Here we are sailing at 20 knots in 20 to 25 of nice breeze, straight into a big depression with winds up to 46 knots. That is the low we were trying to catch up with for the last two days, and here we are at last. The boat is managing herself fantastically and we will see in the conditions ahead, but for sure these boats are designed to deal with these winds and seas and more.
When the low overtakes us, after a few days, as it goes faster than us, we will have a period of nice weather again, but below 40º S you never know. Yes, even Cape Town is in 36º S we will go further south because of the winds from the low pressure, which take us along the fastest route, but not necessary the shortest.
Well, Fernando and Roger have had a nice time preparing the route for the days to come, so let’s see what happens, especially with the rest of the boats.
GO BLACKIES!
More tomorrow.
